A peek into German past! This racetrack sculpture depicts the layout of Automobil-Verkehrs- und Übungsstraße ('Automobile traffic and training road'), also known as AVUS, is a public road in Berlin, Germany.
Opened in 1921, it was used as a motor racing circuit until 1998. Today the AVUS forms the northern part of the Bundesautobahn 115. The Avus ran 8.3 km in length with 4 turns. Major events under its belt: 1926 German Grand Prix, 1959 German Grand Prix, ETCC ('63-'88), Formula 3, DTM, DRM, Interserie, Group C.
After the Berlin wall fall, the closure of the AVUS racetrack for race events became more and more problematic for traffic-related concerns so it finally met its closure in 1998. Express fondness for your favorite track by hanging this fascinating layout sculpture in your man cave, living room or literally anywhere indoors.
This will surely add a hint of German motorsports heritage to your place.
