Description

From 1950 on every year there was organised a Grand Prix Formula 1 in Belgium. After some deadly accidents in the 60's the drivers protested more and more to race on this high speed and unsafe racetrack.

In 1969 there was no F1 race followed by 1970 and 1971. Everybody was waiting for the new structure of the track which had to safer. The following years the Formula 1 went to other circuits like Zolder to host the Belgian GP.

In 1979 the new shorter circuit was introduced. It had more corners and a total length of around 7 kilometers. This suits the best with the track from nowadays. In this shown layout there were already some famous names of corners, like Blanchimont, La Source, Les Combes and Eau Rouge. Some unknown names from this layout were Holowell, Masta and La Carriere.
